| =My work involves scanning old Buddhist religious manuscripts written on palm leaves and recording the high-resolution scanned images onto DVDs. For the past several years I have been using a rather antiquated PC hooked up to a Leica scanning camera, the S1 Pro, but the computer was failing, and needed to be replaced.

| At my suggestion the organization that I work for purchased a new Macintosh Mac Pro desktop computer. I had not realized that there would be a problem connecting the Leica scanner to the new computer. A double-pronged optical line was used to attach the scanner to the PC computer, but the Macintosh does not support a line of this type, but requires a line with a single jack.

| I know that much, or even most, imaging work is done with Macs, and that Leica cameras and scanners are also preferred. There must be a PCI card or other device that will allow me to get the setup up and running, but no one here in Bangkok is able to help me.

| Can you please let me know if there is an adaptor or card of any type that will allow me to use the S1 Pro with a Power Mac?

| Thank you for your attention.
