Dr. Werner Simon was the chairman of the photographic division of Leitz in 1984, and he was one who strongly pushed for the M6, believed the real revolution of the unit, as he was convinced that with a modern light meter, it would make a bold statement in the market for Leica. He served as Leica CEO from 1987- Oct 1993 and a charter member of LHSA.
