  • Code names - OEINO = OEGIO + ELMAR, OESFO = OEGIO + SOORE from 1950 Leica price list. Note: OEGIO is the code name for the Leica If body as well as Ic depending on the date of the catalog: Leica Ic < 1951 > Leica If, OGILO = OCEGO + SBOOI (Viewfinder), OADGO = OCEGO + ELMOO (Elmar f= 5 cm 1:2.8) from 1958 catalog.
  • Production era - 1949-1952; 12,013 cameras
  • Variants - Vulcanite and Sharkskin versions
  • Evolution - Leica IIIc body without rangefinder or viewfinder intended for technical use like mounted in microscope or Visoflex; the Ic has two accessory shoes on the top
  • Serial numbers - 455001-460000, 520001-524000, 560001-562800; 11,800 total assigned numbers 1949-1952
  • Body - aluminum with chrome plated brass top plate, base plate and knobs
